Week 5 Protective style challenge!

We are behind on posting this sorry! This is our week 5 styles of the protective style challenge, we just did simple box braids on Malikhi because he wasn't feeling well and it is by far one of the best protective styles.
We used the curls of the world products started with their shampoo and conditioner and braided with their curl cream and eco styler.

I am in love with these on him look how shiny and healthy his hair looks.

Next we have the princess style I started on the top with this design just by crossing the braids over each other, I did the middle braid first and then proceeded to the two on the side.

I braided the rest of her hair to the center of her head as if I were doing a mohawk style.

I did all this using curls of the world products the same as listed on Malikhi's Box Braids.

I then braided all the braids into one big french braid. this is by far one of my favorite styles I have done on her and she liked it next time I will def do the cornrows smaller.

Freestyle Braids

Malikhi's new braids well there isn't much to say it is self explanatory I honestly had no clue what I was doing I just started parting and braiding randomly.

as you can see there is no rhyme or reason behind this style lol just randomness! This is week 4 of our protective style challenge will be posting week 5 soon!

Comb Coils!!!

Comb coils I know old school right but I had to do something with my boys hair it was getting out of control!
I started at the nape of his neck and parted small squares.

I used a very small comb and dipped it into our ecostyler gel and just twisted this was the wonderful result sorry for not being able to explain it better :\

Keep in mind that whichever way you are holding the comb when you twist is the way the coils will stay! Sadly they did not last a week in his hair he couldnt keep his fingers out of it.

This is also a great protective style!

Mini Braid update

We are going on our 4th week with the mini braids and they are still holding up! Some had come unraveled and we just keep rebraiding them
I moisturize her hair daily with my own water and coconut oil mixture and I have been paying special close attention to the ends of her hair as it is the oldest and needs the most moisture.
she loves the mini braids and so do I

love this style and isn't that just the cutest headband ever!

Just a simple side pony with an adorable crochet bow!

she just had to pose for the picture lol

braided piggy tails a classic and super simple as well

I'm slightly sad that it is about time to remove the wonderful mini braids but am seriously contemplating putting them right back in after I wash and condition!

Malikhis Protective style week #3

We are in our third week of the Protective style challenge and we opted for a simpler style this week. I started on dry hair I did not wash his hair this week as it was not dirty and still very moisturized so I just applied some Beautiful Curls curl reviving Tonic and coconut oil.

Now are you ready for the shocker his daddy came up with this style O_o I wasn't sure what to do and he was like why don't you just start the braids at the back and wrap them around so I did and I absolutley love it!
So far we are having great results from the protective style challenge and I am very happy that we are participating

Another Boy's Protective Style

We started by washing his hair with Curls of the world moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Detangled with Curls of the World Tahitian bay detangling spray. sealed with coconut oil and braided the top halfway back as we did on our previous style.

We stuck to just doing a simple layered style and it lasted a good week.

I did not go into too much detail on this style since it is so self explanatory
