Another style for boys!!!!

I've done it again braided Malikhi up, this style is a little harder than the others I have done and it took quite a bit longer. I started this style on clean detangled hair like always, I wasn't really sure what I was gonna do so I just freestyled it and I really like the way it turned out! Since I can't really explain this style and how I did it I took a few pics from every angle so you can get the idea of how it was done.

He is in serious need of a line up as you can see hear but since daddy has been working 7 days a week 12-14  hrs a day he hasn't had time to do it hopefully it will get done soon as I have gave up on cutting hair lol!

The top it is also very fuzzy as you can tell excuse that please we are out of eco styler gel and haven't made the 45 minute trip to get any.

The back yes I know see taht really big braid right there yea my hands started to hurt and he started to get restless so we settled for that.

and of course he had to pose for you guys

Easy Braids for Girls

Sometimes you have to do something quick and sometimes you just don't feel up to doing a style that is going to take a long time today we had to do something pretty quick we have things to do ya know!!!! So I decided I would do the simplest style I could think of and this is what popped in my head!

I started this style on clean detangled hair like usual I parted the front section off to give her somewhat of a headband braid pulled the back into a pony and braided individual braids into the pony.

I did use sidewinders on the ends of her braids, She likes this style and so do I on days like to today I just didn't feel like doing much!
Another shot of her "headband" braid..

And of course I could not leave you without a pic of Chaela being super cute like usual!

She said YAY!!!!! Before the flash even went off lol!!

Curls of The World Yup another one!!!!

We are doing a review on Curls of the World Georgia Peach Moisturizing Shampoo and Manzanilla Coconut Moisturizing Conditioner!

Shampoo

Ingredients: Saponified oils of Avocado, Borage, Castor, Coconut, Evening Primrose, Palm, Sesame, Safflower, Sweet almond oil, Aloe Vera Oil, Saponified butters of Cocoa and Shea, Vegetable Glycerin, Lavendar Essential oil, Carrageenan, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Silver Citrate, natural Fresh Peach Fragrance.

Conditioner

Ingredients: Aloe Vera Whole Leaf Juice (organic), Avocado Oil, Citric Acid, DL Panthenol, Emulsifying Wax, Glycerin, Hydrolyzed Oat Protein, Palm Stearic Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Safflower Oil, Rosemary Oil, Coconut oil, Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter, Silk Protein, Silver Citrate, Vitamin E, Water, Wheat Germ Oil and Natural Coconut Fragrance Oil.

Pros- Great ingredients, I love the peach smell, lathers nicely, and a little goes a long way!!! conditioner is very creamy, made detangling a breeze his hair was so soft afterwards.

Cons- so far so good I haven't found anything about this shampoo and conditioner that I don't like

Malikhi's hair has never felt this soft after a Wash and condition I did not get a picture directly after but I did get one the next morning after I took his braids out and before I put it in a ponytail for school here is the pic

His hair has grown quite a bit since the "trim" that was a disaster its getting back where it needs to be.

I Did It Again!!!!

So We had to take off the sidewinders and unbraid the piggytails cause they was starting to look rough!
What we did was fairly simple we just braided them into 2 big braids and put ballies on the ends left the front exactly the same.

See how frizzy it is? I'm hoping we can make this last till sunday or even Monday since I have to do something great to Malikhi's hair for pictures on Monday!

We stuck with the same colors Pink & Blue so we wouldn't have to change the sidewinder in the front!

Couldn't leave this post without showing you a cute picture of her showing off her sucker!

Look at fatty fat in the background tearing that sucker up!

All Things Cute & Girly Hair Blooper!

For this style I attempted to copy a style I saw from natural-hair-care-info.com. I was happy with the first few braids I did and then towards the end I wasnt so sure where I was going with it anymore. I had NO idea what to and my daughter and I were already frustrated as is so I decided to just go with it.

I braided one side with various braids, regular, criss-cross, loops, going up, going down etc. I randomly braided the left side and then made a huge braid in the middle. Why? I dont know lol. This is what we ended up with! Our blooper style. To see how we fixed it check it out here side braids with braid out!

Thank you All Things Cute and Girly for being our first hair blooper!!! Like I said it happens to everyone!

Hair Bloopers, Bleeps, and Mishaps!

This is for the moment when you realize it doesn't look how you thought it would!!! We've all done it sat down to start the kids hair, knew exactly what we wanna do then somewhere in the process things get messed up and you don't quite know what to do with it now!!!! Or maybe it just doesn't turn out as cute as you thought it would?!?!?!?! We would like to see these pictures it's OK I promise everyone has had that moment and they don't want to show others the style (I've done plenty) If you would  like to participate just send us a few photos of your hair bloopers to boysandgirlsnaturalcurls@yahoo.com.... Also hair bloopers can be styles that got messed up easily or just messy hair!!!! We Can't wait to hear from you!

Switch it up!

We decided to remove the beads from our Breast Cancer Awareness style. but since the braids still looked decent we just switched it up a bit.

I braided 3 sections of each piggy tail together to make 3 bigger braids on each side then added some sidewinders in blue and pink1

The braids are slightly frizzy but I think we can make them last till saturday or sunday!

Very first time using the 1' sidewinders aren't they so cute!

love the way it looks!!!!

Update on Malics Hair

I told you guys I was gonna grow out Malic's hair and that we wouldn't be doing cuts due to the cold weather so I wanted to update and let everyone see where we are at.

Right now its pretty much at the inbetween phase it's long enough that when I moisturize and comb it it don't lay down and look nice it just kinda curls up!

We still have awhile to go before I can start lockin it up but thought I would share this!

Curls Of The World (Another Review) & Chaela's Length Check

We are doing a review of another Curls of the World product this one is Tahitian Bay Leave-In Detangling Conditioner. Now this is a product that was originally sent for me to use but after trying it and finding out that it was too heavy for my hair I decided it would be great for the kids! I tried it out on both of them for the Breast Cancer Awareness Styles.

Ingredients:Distilled Water, Aloe Vera juice, rosemary essential oil, peppermint essential oil, rose essential oil, natural fragrance, potassium sorbate (a natural preservative)

Pros- Great smell, Made it very simple to detangle the children's hair, and it doesn't take much to do its job.

Cons- there was only one and that is the spray bottle its more of a stream instead of a spritz!

As you can see its packed with essential oils and great ingredients! Also all Curls of the World products are Cruelty free!

To detangle Chaela's hair I parted into 4 sections and sprayed a little bit of the Tahitian Bay Detangling leave in always detangle with your fingers first to make sure you get the problem spots without causing breakage. I used a wide tooth comb and loosely braided each section to keep it from tangling back up.

This is what her hair looked like after I was finished detangling it see how shiny and healthy it looks since I have started using all natural products! (this was pointed out by some of my blogging friends).
Now on to the length Check

I have seen many many of the other hair blogs do length checks so I decided it would probably be a good idea to start doing it as well.

This is Chaela's hair on 10-1-11 almost to the middle of her back =) for a slight comparison here is a picture of her hair on 7-23-11

If you can't tell it was slightly past her shoulders and this was with a braid out so the growth is great!!!!

*These products were sent to me for the purpose of this review I was not compenstated to influence my opinions all opinions stated are my own.

**Looking for more information on these products stay tuned more reviews coming soon!

Breast Cancer Awareness Styles!

For the October Hair Carnival we concluded into doing styles for breast cancer awareness I tried and tried to braid the logo and this is the best I could get it

after 3 trys I decided to leave it

Thats what we came up with for Malikhi I kinda freestyled it after I did the "logo" I know it's not accurate but I tried =) *excuse the frizzy's he did not leave his durag on all night

On to the princess with the Logo not coming out well on Malikhi I was not gonna attempt to do it on MaChaela so to honor Breast cancer awareness I used LOTS of Pink!!!

Can't go wrong with Piggy tails and Pink

I'm gonna regret the size of these braids when It's time to take them out

Remember ladies Breast Cancer is serious be aware and don't forget to do your self exams!!!!!
