Well, as many of you probably know the box braids was a bust :( Makes me sad because I really loved them so versatile. So this morning I took the remaining box braids out it was mostly just around the root that was still in, so it only took a few minutes. After washing her hair I made the decision I wanted to go as curly as possible today but wanted to something super cute as well, this is what I came up with I remember in high school many of my friends as well as some music groups were only putting about 3 or 4 braids in the side of their hair so I went with this idea. I love, love, love her hair like this I just put 3 cornrows into her hair then added the ribbon and
let the rest stay curly. The results probably would have been better if I had some curling custard or something else that defines curls but all I had on hand is what I always use Shea butter leave in. Regardless we received quite a few compliments and she loves it. I have to thank all the other blogs I read for the inspiration as well this is the first time I have ever left her hair down.
Eating her Dr Pepper Slushy Grandma Brought over!
Sorry about the box braids not working out, but im loving this new style! Adorable!
ReplyDeleteHow cute!! Love the flower! (Or bow?)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kandy Yea I was a little devastated about it but everything worked out! I wish I had a flower for her Precious but its hard to find any around here
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! It's one of my favorite styles for Baby O's poufy 'fro :-) If you're looking for a flower clip and don't have any around they're super simple to make. Take a fake flower that you really like and pull the stem out so you only have the fabric petals. Hot glue those together and add a rhinestone or some kind of ornamentation to the center of the flower. Then hot glue the flower to a clip that you have. I have better instructions on one of my posts: http://intermittentbabbling.blogspot.com/2011/07/independence-daynational-afro-day-day.html. It's about half way down. Have fun making them, they're addicting!
ReplyDeleteNikki thank you sooo much I'm gonna go check that out right now Walmart here I come lol
ReplyDeleteLOL, I always buy a whole bunch of fake flowers and make them for her...she's got more flower clippies than I know what to do with!
